Senior Analyst - Digital
Role Overview:
As a Senior Digital Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing data and generating insights to support the company's decision-making processes and review performance. You will work with stakeholders from across the Department and play a key role in prioritising needs from the business in terms of analytical support and data requirements. Primarily working alongside the Trade & Commercial Finance functions to analyse performance and find new opportunities.
We are seeking an organised and methodical individual who has strong attention to detail and has an interest in data processing and analysis. Ideally you will be an advanced user of Excel and SQL. You should have an analytical way of thinking with good communication skills. The ideal candidate would be able to work independently as well as work collaboratively within the team.
You will be able to drive commercial decision making across the business and act as a strategic enabler to senior stakeholders. You will have a track record in being able to manage, engage and be a subject matter expert within Big Query, Looker, Google Analytics etc. You will be experienced in your field, comfortable with assisting, mentoring, and educating more junior members of the team. You will have well developed experience in visualizing and analysing data and be skilled in using a wide range of analytical tools.
As a Senior Digital Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing data and generating insights to support the company's decision-making processes and review performance. This role will be mostly utilising Data Warehouses, Google Analytics and PowerBi to generate data and insights.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting in to the Head of Digital Analytics, you'll be responsible for managing a specific territory within our JD Digital estate and working with both trade and performance personnel within that region to maximise sales opportunities. The territories you may be responsible for are either JD UK & IE, JD South EU or JD North EU
- You will be responsible for helping the Digital business hit commercial targets, across the entire P&L, from sales down to operational efficiencies. You will take ownership of data outputs and show diligence for checking & reconciling datasources.
- You will work closely with relevant teams and stakeholders that impact the web and app journey such as CRO, UX & Marketing, working together to solve and build on insight and reporting.
Role Objectives and KPI's:
- Your objective is to review business performance, highlight issues, optimise, and attempt to advance our business performance in our key measures in terms of financials, engagement, and customer journey.
- You will need to deal with a range of different datasets - Marketing, Website, Operational, Customer & Financial and will need to weave different datapoints into a combined view.
- You will identify and define reporting opportunities to allow key stakeholders clear visibility of the customer journey and key sales indicators.
- You will high strategic and commercial understanding of the business impacts of the projects and work you are delivering.
- Define and then report on the key metrics for each part of the web journey, with a view to aligning these with the overall business objectives.
Skills and Experience:
- Ideally you will have a minimum of 5 years' experience working in a fast-paced organisation in an Analytics or Data team and will be at an Analyst level.
- You will ideally have a background working in Retail.
- Experience in working within a digital environment is a must and have been a linchpin between commercial finance and online trading
- You will have performed data analysis, reporting or projects.
- You will be comfortable in facing and presenting work to stakeholders.
- You have the desire to continue to want to learn, improve and upskill.
- Numerate and analytical with strong level of attention to detail.
- A good team player with strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal departments and external suppliers in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Ability to optimally communicate both internally at senior management levels & externally.
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence at various levels.
- Ability to analyse and interpret statistical information.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You will have good knowledge of Google Analytics and preferably exposure to BigQuery.
- You will have experience of using Google Analytics to explore data, comfortable building custom reports & a solid understanding of web data collection.
