The Role

Working closely with Managers and Directors, you'll take responsibility for a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
• Producing management accounts and financial information
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients
• Building strong, long-term relationships with business owners
• Providing proactive accounting and business advice
• Supporting clients with cloud accounting software and improving their accounting processes
• Identifying tax planning and wider advisory opportunities
• Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team
• Coaching and supporting trainees and Semi Seniors
• Working closely with Managers and Directors on more complex client matters
• Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• ACA or ACCA qualification, although strong qualified-by-experience candidates will also be considered
• Strong experience within UK accountancy practice
• Experience preparing statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses
• Good corporation tax knowledge
• Strong communication and client relationship skills
• Confidence dealing directly with business owners
• Experience reviewing or supporting junior team members
• Good knowledge of cloud accounting software
• A proactive approach and an interest in developing beyond traditional compliance work
