- Supporting applications for statutory assessment and working with the local authority where appropriate.
- Ensuring that SEND records, provision maps and documentation are accurate, up to date and compliant with statutory requirements.
- Supporting the effective deployment of Learning Support Assistants and other adults to maximise their impact on pupil learning.
- Contributing to school self-evaluation and wider school improvement.
- Keeping up to date with national and local SEND developments and ensuring these inform school practice.
At Bidford on Avon, we believe that every child is unique, valued and capable of achieving great things. We want our pupils with SEND to be fully included in the life of our school and to experience the same sense of belonging, aspiration and success as every other child.
We are looking for a SENDCo who can combine high expectations with compassion, champion the needs of children and work positively with staff and families to find solutions.
We are looking for someone who:

- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can develop positive relationships with children, parents, staff and external professionals.
- Has excellent organisational skills and can manage competing priorities effectively.
- Can work strategically while remaining focused on the practical needs of children and classrooms.
- Is solution-focused, approachable and resilient.
- Is committed to professional development and keeping their SEND knowledge current.
- Will embrace and contribute to the Christian values and distinctive character of our school.
We would particularly welcome applications from experienced teachers or SEND professionals who are looking for a part-time SENDCo role within a supportive and ambitious primary school.
We can offer you a welcoming and supportive school community, a committed staff team and the opportunity to have a genuine strategic impact on SEND provision across the school. You will be supported to develop your expertise and ideas and will work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals.
