- Cirencester Start: ASAP Hours: Full time or part time available A supportive primary school in Cirencester is looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistantto provide focused 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who is passionate about helping children access learning in a structured, nurturing environment.
Role Overview Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support strategies Encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation Assist with classroom routines, transitions and small group activities where needed Candidate Profile Previous SEN experience is essential Calm, patient and adaptable approach to supporting pupil needs Strong communication and rapport building skills Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable Driving licence advantageous (due to school location) SEN training highly valued, including: Understanding Autism ADHD Awareness Team Teach / De escalation Training Trauma Informed Practice BSL or other communication focused training Makaton (highly desirable)

Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs). Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Support pupils in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
Monitor progress and contribute to assessment and review processes.
What We're Looking For: Proven experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEND training). A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
