SEND Teaching Assistant, Part-time

Location: Leamington Spa
Job Type: Part Time, Term Time Only
Salary: £14.25 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with autism and PDA.
• Adapt learning and communication strategies to meet the individual needs of the child.
• Build positive, trusting relationships by understanding the child's interests, strengths, and support needs.
• Support the child's social, emotional, and academic development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to ensure effective support is in place.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and/or PDA.
• A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and relationship building skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
• An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.
