Contract: Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities

Pay: £495-£550 per week

About the role

Connex Education is proud to be working exclusively with a respected Multi Academy Trust across Chesterfield, supporting a number of their primary schools across Chesterfield. We are seeking SEND Teaching Assistants to join one of our multi academy schools starting from September 2026.

The schools are part of a Multi Academy Trust that we have exclusive access to all their supply needs from September 2026.

Assignment Details

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.

Depending on the assignment, your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, PMLD and SEMH
  • Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support
  • Promoting pupil independence, confidence and wellbeing
  • Supporting behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
  • Encouraging participation in classroom and enrichment activities
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

Person Specification
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs is desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
