SEND Teaching Assistant - Specialist School

Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school located near Bromsgrove. Position Details

• Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
• Location: Bromsgrove area
• Start Date: September
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
• Pay Rate: £92.63 per day
• Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing

Key Responsibilities

• Support children and young people aged 4-19 years
• Work closely with pupils who have a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• Deliver personalised support tailored to individual learning and care needs
• Encourage positive engagement in both classroom and wider school activities
• Foster strong, trusting relationships with students
• Support emotional regulation and wellbeing throughout the school day
• Help create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
• Assist with personal care where required

About You

• Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly within SEND settings
• Confidence supporting pupils with additional or complex needs
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach
• Willingness to provide personal care support when required
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
• Full availability to work Monday to Friday during school hours
