Job Description

SEN Teacher Location: Mansfield, Nottinghamshire Salary: £32,916 to £45,535 (M1 to M6) Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only Hours: 40 hours per week

A compassionate, creative and committed SEN Teacher is required to deliver personalised, multisensory learning for children and young people aged 7-19. If you are passionate about holistic, learner-centred education and want to make a meaningful difference every day, this role offers the opportunity to do exactly that.

About the Role

You will teach small groups across two adjoining specialist sites, with occasional cover at nearby provisions. Working closely with colleagues, you will design flexible, engaging learning experiences tailored to each learner's needs, interests and goals.

Your teaching will focus on building confidence, improving engagement and supporting academic, social and emotional development - always with wellbeing, safety and inclusion at the centre of your practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and review personalised learning programmes, including lesson plans and schemes of work
  • Use creative, varied approaches to maximise engagement and meet diverse needs
  • Advocate for young people and involve them in decisions about their learning
  • Ensure safeguarding, health & safety and risk management procedures are followed
  • Support with learner profiles, SEN information, assessments and progress tracking
  • Contribute to curriculum development and subject improvement
  • Maintain accurate records, including EHCP-related documentation and transition planning
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and best practice in SEN

Skills & Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • SEN teaching experience (preferred)
  • Relevant Level 6 qualification
  • Commitment to inclusive, relationship-based practice
