Responsibilities

• Carry out the statutory assessment and EHC plan review process, ensuring children and young people with SEND are placed and supported suitably in line with legislation.
• Manage a caseload of children and young people under assessment for EHC plans and a cohort already in place.
• Act as the first point of contact for families, providing excellent customer service and fostering positive working relationships with families and professionals.
• Work in partnership with other agencies, including multi agency teams, to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Work independently and as part of a wider team to meet statutory timescales and deadlines, using IT and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrate excellent mediation and negotiation skills and work effectively under pressure, supporting families and handling legal challenge.
• Operate in depth knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, SENDIST regulations and related legislation.

Qualifications

• Experience and in depth knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, SENDIST regulations and related legislation.
• Proven ability to manage caseloads and deliver casework in a complex environment.
