SEN Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Bewdley, starting in November 2026 and continuing until June 2027.

The setting provides specialist education for pupils with a range of complex and additional needs. These can include SEMH, Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will provide structured support and help pupils remain engaged with learning and develop their independence.

Experience within a specialist school, alternative provision, residential setting or similar SEN environment would be beneficial.

Job Role:

• Support pupils with complex and additional needs
• Work with students with SEMH, ASD and ADHD
• Provide individual and small-group support
• Assist pupils with emotional regulation
• Support positive behaviour and classroom routines
• Help pupils access their individual learning programmes
• Follow behaviour and support plansWork alongside specialist teachers and other professionals
• Encourage independence and positive social development

Required Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN
• Specialist education experience is desirable
• Understanding of SEMH, ASD and ADHD
• Experience supporting challenging behaviour
• Ability to remain calm and consistent
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Resilient and patient approach
• Commitment to supporting pupils with complex needs

Location

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is based in Bewdley and is easily commutable from Kidderminster, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcester, Bridgnorth, Bromsgrove, Hagley and surrounding areas.
