Job Description

Salary: £23,000 per annum (pro rata, based on 36.75 hours per week, term-time only)

Location: Remote school location (own transport required)

The Role

Are you looking to make a genuine, measurable difference in the lives of autistic children while fast-tracking your own professional career?

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work in small classes on a 1:1 or small-group basis. Using positive reinforcement and structured, evidence-based teaching techniques, you will design and deliver tailored sessions that help pupils reach their full potential, build social skills, and accelerate their learning.

Working Hours

Full-Time: 36.75 hours per week

  • Tuesday: 08:45 - 17:30
  • Friday: 08:45 - 16:30
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead lessons to support students' social and emotional growth while helping pupils achieve standard academic goals.
  • Use structured techniques to help students thrive while maintaining a calm, supportive atmosphere.
  • Assist with pupils' daily needs, including personal care, break times, and educational trips, as part of a collaborative team.
  • Advance your personal development through continuous training and fully funded qualifications.
Key Requirements
  • Relevant prior experience working with children or individuals with autism or additional needs within similar roles.
  • Resilience and flexibility when working in a dynamic environment with learners who have autism and diverse support needs.
  • A committed, dedicated approach with a strong proactive attitude.
  • Ability to provide your own transport due to the school's location.
  • Permanent right to work in the UK (we operate a strict no-sponsorship policy).
  • Willingness to undergo a full Enhanced DBS check.
  • GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths. An Early Years qualification is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
