SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Coventry, CV2Pay Rate: £500 - £525 per weekStart Date: ASAPContract: Monday - Friday, long-term temp to perm.Long Term Futures are recruiting a caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil within a friendly and inclusive primary school in Coventry. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.The role will involve providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social skills and manage their emotions within an early years/KS1 setting. The school offers a supportive environment with a strong focus on early intervention and pupil wellbeing.Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with additional needs, including ASD and SEMH traits.
• Support early learning development including phonics, numeracy and communication
• Help the pupil engage with classroom routines and structured activities
• Encourage communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
• Build a consistent, supportive relationship to encourage confidence and independence
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt support strategies

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• A Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning Qualification, or relevant subject
• Experience working with primary-aged pupils
• Experience supporting children with SEN
• A background supporting students in a classroom or similar setting
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies or training
• A co-operative, patient and positive attitude
