Job Description
SEN TeacherLocation:
Independent specialist education setting (Mansfield area)
Contract Type:Permanent, Full-Time (Term Time Only - 40 hours per week)
Salary:M1 to M6 depending on skills and experience (£32,916 to £45,352 per annum for September starters)
Role OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate, creative and committed SEN Teacher to deliver personalised, high-quality education to children and young people with special educational needs.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through multi-sensory, holistic teaching that helps learners re-engage with education, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, deliver and review personalised learning programmes, including lesson plans and schemes of work
- Use creative and adaptive teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
- Deliver engaging lessons to small groups of learners aged 7-19
- Support learners' academic, social and emotional development
- Promote inclusion, wellbeing and safeguarding at all times
- Work collaboratively to design innovative curriculum approaches
- Contribute to assessments, progress tracking and reporting (including EHCP documentation)
- Maintain accurate records and support transition planning
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
- Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Relevant Level 6 qualification
- Strong commitment to inclusive, learner-centred practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with learners, families and colleagues
- Experience working within SEN settings
- Knowledge of multi-sensory and holistic teaching approaches
- Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs
- Flexible, creative and adaptable in teaching practice
- Resilient and solution-focused
- Reflective and committed to continuous improvement
- This role is subject to enhanced DBS and pre-employment safeguarding checks
- Exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; applicants must declare relevant convictions in line with guidance
