Position: SEN Teacher
Location: The Grange Therapeutic School, Knossington, Oakham LE15 8LY
Salary: £39,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Rota: Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 4.30pm, Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start: April 2026

About the Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, inclusive education for students with autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs. Working within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons, promote positive development, and help students make meaningful academic, social, and emotional progress.
You will:
- Plan and deliver high-quality teaching to individuals and small groups in line with the school curriculum
- Monitor, assess, record, and report on student progress and outcomes
- Design and implement individual education, behaviour, and support plans in collaboration with colleagues
- Create a safe, stimulating, and well-organised learning environment
- Coordinate teaching, assessment, and reporting across agreed subjects and key stages
- Promote students' physical, educational, social, and moral development
- Support students with challenging behaviour to develop self-regulation and independence
- Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, tutors, and care staff to ensure consistent, high-quality support
- Contribute to school development priorities and continuous improvement
About You
You will be:
- Qualified: UK QTS or equivalent, with a relevant degree
- Experienced: Skilled in supporting students with SEN, autism (ASC), learning difficulties, and complex needs
- Compassionate & Resilient: Able to build trusting relationships with pupils who have faced significant challenges
- Collaborative: A clear communicator who thrives in a team environment
- Creative & Flexible: Able to adapt and innovate to meet individual needs
