Location: Bricklehurst Manor School, Stonegate East Sussex, TN5 7EL

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum dependant on experience ( not pro rata )

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Start Date: January 2026

At Bricklehurst Manor School, we do things differently. We're an established, specialist independent school for children with SEN and Autism - and we're looking for a creative, compassionate, and committed SEN Teacher to join our growing team.

This is your chance to teach with purpose, focus on the whole child , and leave the paperwork-heavy culture behind. Here, every lesson you deliver makes a visible difference.

About the Role

As an SEN Teacher at Bricklehurst Manor, you'll do far more than deliver lessons-you'll create learning experiences that inspire confidence, build life skills, and help every pupil feel truly seen and supported.

You'll be working with pupils who have complex needs, including Autism and associated social, emotional, and communication challenges. Each child is unique, and your job is to meet them where they are-academically, emotionally, and developmentally-and guide them forward with empathy, creativity, and structure.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Planning and delivering highly personalised, engaging lessons that reflect individual EHCP targets and learning styles
  • Thinking differently about education-integrating sensory, practical, outdoor, and play-based activities to boost motivation and access
  • Supporting the whole child, including their communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and self-esteem
  • Creating a calm, nurturing, and inclusive classroom where structure, respect, and empathy form the foundation of every interaction
  • Working closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and other teachers to take a holistic, joined-up approach to each pupil's development
  • Celebrating progress in all its forms-not just academic, but emotional, behavioural, and social too

Who we are looking for

We're seeking someone who is not only qualified but truly passionate about SEN teaching.

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or ASC
  • A strong understanding of inclusive, trauma-informed, and therapeutic practices
  • A calm, flexible, and empathetic teaching style
  • A genuine desire to build meaningful relationships and celebrate every pupil's progress

At Bricklehurst Manor, you'll be part of a close-knit, forward-thinking team that values creativity, wellbeing, and collaboration. This isn't just a teaching job - it's a chance to help build something extraordinary from the ground up.
