Are you looking for a rewarding role supporting children with additional needs in the new academic year?As schools prepare for September, I am recruiting compassionate, dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants and 1:1 Support Assistants to work across a range of primary schools throughout South Birmingham and Solihull.
Whether you have extensive SEN experience, are currently working as a Teaching Assistant, or have transferable experience supporting children with additional needs, I have a variety of opportunities available to suit your skills, preferences and availability.Working with Hays Education, you'll have access to roles within welcoming and inclusive schools that are committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
Your new roleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant or 1:1 Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, SENDCos and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with additional learning, behavioural, emotional or physical needs.

You will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, develop independence and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
What you'll need to succeed- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or within an educational setting
- Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Knowledge of Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs or SEMH would be beneficial
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, CACHE, NVQ or equivalent is desirable
- Patience, empathy and a nurturing approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to adapt learning and support strategies to meet individual needs
- A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and succeed
