Job Description

Job Title: SEN Lecturer
Location: East London
Salary: Up to £42 per hour
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Lecturer to join a Further Education college in London. You will deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), supporting them to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and personally. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to students with SEND
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with curriculum requirements
  • Develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and support strategies
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback and support
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, EHCP coordinators, and safeguarding teams
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet a wide range of learning needs
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives
About You
  • Experience teaching students with SEND in an FE College or similar setting
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to student success
Desirable
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
  • Experience working with EHCPs and additional learning support
  • Subject specialism relevant to FE curriculum (e.g. Functional Skills, Vocational subjects)
