Coba Education is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within specialist and mainstream school settings across Northamptonshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support, building positive relationships and helping to create a safe, engaging learning environment.
The Role- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Implementing support strategies and behaviour plans
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
- Promoting student confidence, wellbeing and independence
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEN, behavioural needs, or challenging behaviour
- A calm, patient and positive approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to remain resilient in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
- Relevant qualifications are advantageous but not essential
