SEMH Teaching Assistant - Salford, Greater Manchester

Are you a calm, resilient and caring SEMH Teaching Assistant looking for a role where you can truly make a difference? TeacherActive are proud to be working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Salford, Greater Manchester that supports young people with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), Autism and challenging behaviour.

This long-term position offers the chance to join a dedicated, supportive team that works hard to create positive change in students' lives - and for the right person, there's a strong likelihood of going permanent, giving you real job security.

Your Role

• Support students with SEMH, Autism and behavioural challenges on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Build trust, provide emotional support and help learners re engage with education.
• Work closely with teachers, mentors and behaviour leads to implement individual support plans.
• Encourage personal growth, resilience and positive choices.
• At least 6 months' experience working with young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Experience within a PRU, Alternative Provision or SEND setting is highly desirable.
• A patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
• A passion for helping students achieve their full potential - academically and personally.
