What the Role Involves
  • Providing dedicated 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs
  • Implementing strategies outlined in pupils' Education, Health and Care Plans under SENDCO guidance
  • Supporting pupils to regulate, engage positively with school life, and access the curriculum with confidence
  • Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and wellbeing, feeding back to teachers and the pastoral team
  • Building consistent, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and the wider multi disciplinary team
What the School is Looking For

The ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university. Previous child centred experience, particularly with young people with SEMH needs in a UK school or educational setting, is highly valued. The school is seeking a calm, resilient, and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant with strong communication skills and a genuine vocation for supporting vulnerable young people.
