SEMH Teaching Assistant

Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with an extremely supportive and well-regarded primary school in Runcorn that is at the heart of it's local community as they require a motivated teaching assistant to join their team. This is a full-time long-term position starting after the Easter break that will last the remainder of the academic year.
Your new role
In this role you will be joining the schools highly experience SEN team. You will be based within a KS2 designated provision that supports young learners with varying levels of SEMH, some of whom have been subject to significant previous trauma in early life. You will build strong constructive relationships with your new pupils by treating them as the individuals they are and support the class teacher with behaviour management. Your core duties will include:
- Positive behaviour support and trauma-informed curriculum delivery
- ELSA interventions including communication and well-being
- Interventions and boosters in core subjects
- Break and lunch-time duties
What you need to succeed
- Full "Right to Work" in the UK
- Experience delivering or awareness of ELSA
- Be able to commit to a full-time contract consisting of 32.5 hours per week
- Be willing to undergo an Enhanced Children's DBS check
- Have a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years
