Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A range of specialist schools and alternative provisions in Sheffield are seeking resilient and compassionate SEMH Teachers to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs.

About the Schools:
Schools across Sheffield are looking for dedicated SEMH Teachers who can build positive relationships and maintain calm, structured and trauma-informed learning environments. These settings prioritise consistency, emotional wellbeing and supportive behaviour approaches to help students feel safe, engaged and ready to learn.

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver tailored lessons, manage challenging behaviour positively, and support students with a range of additional needs. This role is ideal for teachers who are patient, adaptable and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education and achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students with SEMH needs

Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

Manage behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies

Create a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment

Adapt learning to meet individual student needs and abilities

Work closely with support staff and external professionals where required

Maintain safeguarding and wellbeing standards at all times

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Experience working with students with SEMH or additional needs

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

Calm, resilient and professional approach

Ability to build strong relationships and de-escalate challenging situations

Reliable and flexible availability
