Job Description

Job Title: SEMH Teacher

Location: Sheffield - S5

Salary: Up to £220 per day

Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day

Start Date: Immediately

GSL Education is looking for a passionate and experienced SEMH Teacher to join a supportive school in Sheffield (S5). About the Role

As a SEMH Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons while providing emotional and social support to students. You will play a key role in helping students manage their behaviour, build confidence, and develop skills to succeed academically and personally.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver lessons and activities tailored to students with SEMH needs
  • Support students' social, emotional, and academic development
  • Implement personalised strategies to manage behaviour and encourage engagement
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, support teams, and leadership to meet students' needs
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and reports
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching students with SEMH or related SEN needs
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual student needs
  • A passion for supporting students' emotional and academic growth
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last 2 years
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
