Inspire, Support, and Make a Lasting DifferenceOur client is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Science Teacher to join their specialist provision in Leicester from August 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and helping them achieve their full potential through engaging and practical science lessons.
Working in a supportive and collaborative environment, you will play a key role in creating positive learning experiences for students who thrive with patience, consistency, and strong relationships.
The RoleAs the successful candidate, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEMH and additional learning needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, and other professionals to support student development.
- Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to help learners succeed academically and personally.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Science at secondary level.
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs, SEND, or within alternative provision (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning.
- A welcoming and supportive leadership team.
- Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
