Newman Personnel is recruiting an experienced Security Systems Estimator for an established and growing specialist contractor based in Harlow.

This role would suit someone with practical estimating experience gained within the electronic security, CCTV, Access Control or closely related Fire and Security sector.

You will prepare accurate quotations, tenders and proposals for security-system installation projects, working closely with clients, suppliers and the company's technical team.

Key responsibilities:

• Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings and project specifications
• Completing take-offs and preparing detailed cost breakdowns
• Producing quotations, tenders and project proposals
• Sourcing competitive supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Identifying project requirements and potential commercial risks
• Ensuring proposals meet relevant standards and agreed profit margins
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and internal technical teams
• Managing several estimates and deadlines simultaneously

Key experience:

• Previous estimating experience within CCTV, Access Control, electronic security or a closely related Fire and Security environment
• Understanding of security systems and their components
• Experience interpreting construction drawings and specifications
• Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Confident communication with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
• Good Microsoft Office and estimating-software skills
• Ability to organise and prioritise a varied workload

Knowledge of NACOSS, BAFE SP203, BS5839 or other relevant British Standards would be advantageous. FIA, NSI, LPCB or City & Guilds qualifications would also be beneficial, although relevant industry experience is more important.

The successful candidate will need to meet the required DBS and security-industry screening requirements.

• Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience
