Security Risk Management Specialist

About the role

Canonical is a global open source software company and the maintainer of Ubuntu. This role owns the security risk management program, defining standards, practices and the strategic vision for identifying, tracking and reducing security risk across Canonical and its products.

What you'll do

• Define security risk management standards and playbooks
• Analyse and improve Canonical's security risk practices
• Lead quantified risk assessments and develop risk indicators and controls
• Produce learning materials and promote security risk thought leadership
• Collaborate with security leadership and cross-functional teams to influence change
• Develop templates and tools to enable self-service risk actions

What they're looking for

• Strong academic background in computer science or STEM or compelling alternative path
• Experience with threat modelling and risk management frameworks
• Proven problem solving, communication and presentation skills in business English
• Experience with Secure Development Lifecycle and Security by Design methodologies
• Ability to apply statistical risk methods and interpret cyber risk analyses for decision making
• Leadership or management ability and a track record of going above and beyond
