Overview

As a Security Officer, you will respond to all requests for security services, operate systems and maintain accurate logs and reports. You will follow established processes and procedures, ensuring the safety and welfare of all staff, patients and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recognise and respond in an appropriate and proportionate manner to any situation that might threaten the safety, security or well being of the hospital, its patients, visitors and staff.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of activity.
  • Promote, support and encourage the seamless flow of information to and from the Security team and across the hospital to anticipate changing circumstances.
  • Provide a physical security presence around reception areas as directed by the Security Supervisor or their deputy.
  • Present yourself for duty in a timely manner and be dressed and equipped to maintain professional standards at all times.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling access to the hospital premises, administering the ID access control system so that personnel gain entry only to areas they are entitled to.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and Environmental safety requirements.
  • Maintain the condition and suitability of all equipment issued for use, and assist with regular inspections of emergency and other equipment, including first aid supplies.
  • Conduct regular internal and external patrols of all hospital premises.
Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a security role - ideally in a hospital or hospitality setting.
  • Valid SIA Licence.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience operating CCTV systems is desirable.
  • IT literate - knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
