An opportunity has arisen for a Security Design Engineer in our Warrington office who will be working on projects for our clients.
What you will be doing:- Develop electronic security technical specifications following site visits and 3D scans.
- Liaise with subcontractor design teams to refine scope and ensure quality.
- Review subcontractor pricing and specifications for accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage Tender TQs and maintain the Tender TQ register.
- Assist project and tendering teams with technical documentation for bids and orders.
- Ensure compliance with security processes and procedures on-site and in-office.
- Support documentation for security accreditation within the business.
- Determine client security requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with Head of Design and delivery teams to value-engineer designs while meeting client specifications and safety standards.
- Promote innovation and cost-effectiveness in all design activities.
- Provide technical input for subcontract orders and installer specifications.
- Produce design documentation including layouts, functional specs, schedules, and network architecture.
- Review and approve design deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance with programme.
- Manage design changes through the Change Control Process and prevent scope creep.
- Assist with handover to Construction and Commissioning Managers.
- Experience and knowledge of integrated security systems including Access Control, Intruder Alarm, Analogue CCTV, IP CCTV, Audio Challenge, and Intercom systems.
- Experience of system integration into both local and remote ARC and RVRC central security management systems.
- Water company experience beneficial.
- Experience with AMTECH.
- Sound knowledge of security equipment and devices.
- BIM / PAS 1192.
- Experience of producing URS and FDS documents to client briefs and specifications.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and temporary works requirements.
- Possess an industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent.
- Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft packages (experience with AutoCAD software would be an advantage).
