Job Description
Security Architect
Location - Remote
Once every 6 months in - London, Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds
Clearance - SC Eligible
Start: Asap
End:1 year
Rate - £600 Inside ir35
Core responsibilities
- Security design: Create and design security architecture for systems, applications, and networks, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
- Risk assessment: Analyse and assess security risks associated with proposed changes, new technologies, and existing systems, using methods like quantitative risk assessments.
- Strategic advice: Provide specialist security advice to teams and stakeholders, influencing the adoption of security principles and strategies across the department.
- Security controls: Recommend and implement security controls that align with business objectives and ensure security requirements are considered from the start of projects ("secure by default").
- Stakeholder engagement: Communicate and engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal teams, senior management, and external suppliers.
- Technical expertise: Advise on security-related technologies and develop security patterns for new technologies.
- Governance: Help review the work of others and engage with architectural governance to manage decisions and risks effectively.
Key skills and knowledge
- Deep understanding of security concepts and ability to apply them technically.
- Proficiency in risk analysis, control design, and risk acceptance.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Experience with creating secure reference architectures, secure cloud architectures, and data protection schemes.
- Familiarity with technologies like mutual TLS for microservices and secure base images for containers.
