Job Description
Security Architect - Tooling & Product Architecture

Location: Dublin City Centre / Hybrid

Type: Permanent

Salary: Competitive

About the Role

We're looking for a Security Architect who genuinely enjoys working with security tools and products. This is not a governance-heavy architecture role - it's for someone who gets excited about evaluating new security technologies, understanding how they work under the hood, and designing integrated security ecosystems that deliver real operational value.

You'll combine hands-on technical depth with strategic architecture thinking, working across endpoint security, identity, cloud security, SIEM, and threat detection platforms. A key requirement is extensive CrowdStrike experience.

The role focuses on architecting and optimising security tooling across the organisation, including endpoint protection, IAM/PAM, cloud security, SIEM, vulnerability management, and data protection solutions. It also involves evaluating new products through technical assessments and POCs, integrating tools across infrastructure and cloud environments, defining security standards and best practices, and collaborating with engineering, infrastructure, compliance, and incident response teams to improve visibility, detection, and operational effectiveness.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Design and architect security solutions across endpoint, identity, cloud, SIEM, and threat detection domains
  • Evaluate new security products, run technical assessments and POCs, and make vendor recommendations
  • Integrate and optimise security tools across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments
  • Define security standards, runbooks, and architecture documentation
  • Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, compliance, and incident response teams
  • Stay current with the evolving security product landscape and recommend improvements and new capabilities
  • Support incident response and threat investigations by ensuring security tooling is configured effectively
  • Mentor technical teams on security tool best practices and emerging capabilities
What We're Looking For Essential
  • 7+ years in security roles, including 3+ years in security architecture, security engineering, or security tool evaluation
  • Deep hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and optimising enterprise security products in production environments
  • Broad knowledge across:
    • IAM / PAM / SSO
    • EDR and endpoint protection
    • Cloud security (CSPM, CWPP, cloud-native security)
    • Network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation)
    • SIEM and security analytics
    • Vulnerability management
    • Data protection and encryption
  • Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows, and troubleshooting complex security configurations
  • Experience communicating security architecture to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST
  • Extensive CrowdStrike experience is essential.

These requirements reflect the core competencies, experience expectations, compliance familiarity, and mandatory CrowdStrike requirement outlined in the job description.

Nice to Have
  • SOAR / security automation experience
  • Threat intelligence or threat hunting background
  • Incident response or threat analysis experience
  • Infrastructure-as-Code and security automation exposure
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCSK, or similar
Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to join an environment where security tooling is treated as a craft rather than a checkbox exercise. You'll have the autonomy to influence technology decisions, evaluate emerging products, and shape the organisation's future security architecture.
