If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Our client is seeking a Security Advisor to join their team and play a crucial role in supporting their Corporate Security initiatives.
Role: Security Advisor
Duration: 6 months (ext. options)
Location: Wokingham (Hybrid 2 Days a Week in Office)
Rate: £750 - £800 pd (umbrella)
What You'll Do:
As a Security Advisor, you will:
- Provide expert guidance and direction to all parts of the organisation, its partners, and contractors.
- Lead the Physical Security function, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Deliver protective security advice, both written and verbal, to various business areas.
- Collaborate with the National Grid's UK Physical Security Team and Security Control Centre.
- Support UK Government Counter Terrorism and Crime Prevention strategies, influencing national security policies.
- Design, develop, and manage security programmes to protect corporate assets and personnel from various threats.
- Represent the organisation on government committees and industry focus groups as a topical expert.
What You Bring:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Proven experience working with key government departments and law enforcement agencies.
- SC Clearance (current or within the last 12 months)
- Strong people management skills and the ability to manage performance and development plans.
- Excellent knowledge of physical security principles and relevant legislation.
- A track record of designing, developing, and implementing effective security programmes.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and administrative skills in the security industry.
- Prior experience in Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) is essential.
- Familiarity with managing government-marked information and materials.
- Experience in conducting security surveys and project support related to security.
Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- An aptitude for conveying the business benefits of a threat-based, risk-informed security approach.
- Desirable: Security-related credentials such as ASIS International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP).
