Security Project Manager Job Description

Client

My client, a technology and communications business operating globally, is looking for a Security Project Manager for a 12 month contract engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of the satellite system development project, with a focus on security requirements.
  • Act as the primary interface between the company, governmental stakeholders, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure strict adherence to national and international security regulations regarding classified and sensitive governmental information.
  • Coordinate with engineering, security, and compliance teams to integrate cyber security, physical security, and data protection measures into system design and operations.
  • Develop, monitor, and update project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies, especially for security related threats.
  • Oversee documentation, audits, and certifications required by governmental security authorities.
  • Provide regular progress and security compliance reports to senior management and government representatives.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure both technical excellence and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the aerospace, defense, or secure communications sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of security standards, classified information handling, and regulatory frameworks (eg, ISO 27001, EU/NATO security requirements, ITAR, GDPR where applicable).
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex, multi-stakeholder development projects.
  • PMP®, PRINCE2®, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Security clearance up to Secret level of confidentiality.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with satellite systems architecture, secure communications, or ground segment development.
  • Experience working with governmental agencies or defense/security institutions.
  • Ability to manage culturally diverse and international teams Others This position is hybrid (remote/on-site 3 days per week)

Contract duration: 1 Year
