Opportunity: Section 38 Highways Officer
Location: Greater Manchester
Rate: Negotiable and Competitive
Duration: 6 months+
IR35: Outside

We require the services of a Highways Officer to provide support with section 38 agreements.

• Advising various departments and partners, including developers and Highway Consultants, on issues relating Section 38's and S278's their impact on the highway network.
• Work with developers and contractors through the Section 38 and Section 278 construction phases in respect of site inspections, onsite testing and agreeing remedial works.
• Reviewing design drawings and liaison with the developer (or developers design consultant) for technical approval.
• Undertake Highways design checks to facilitate highway developments in relation to S38 and S278.
• Calculation of bonds, establishment fees etc. associated with the legal agreements for S38's and S278's.
• Attending sites during construction to ensure the works are completed in accordance with the approved designs and liaison with the developer's contractor.
• Maintain site diary to include activities undertaken, works completed, materials used and a photographic record of progress.

The Highways Officer should be suitably qualified (or time-served) with relevant experience. The role will be based in Greater Manchester with a hybrid working arrangement.
