Salary: £92.59 per day minimum

Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary - 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Job Description:

Are you a passionate and proactive Teaching Assistant eager to make a positive impact in the classroom? We are partnering with a welcoming secondary school in the heart of Newport to find an enthusiastic candidate to assist KS3 and KS4 pupils. This role offers an exciting opportunity to guide and inspire young learners within a dynamic, encouraging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and maintain a lively, focused classroom environment.
• Providing tailored 1:1 support to pupils with additional learning needs, helping them achieve their developmental milestones.
• Leading small-group intervention sessions in reading, writing, and numeracy to reinforce learning.
• Building positive relationships with children, staff, and parents to foster a supportive educational environment.
• Contributing to an inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, safe, and motivated to learn.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• 3 months experience working with children.
• A patient, creative, and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-player mindset.
• Reliability, energy, and a genuine passion for education.
• An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
