Term Time Only No Weekends All School Holidays Off

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a large and inclusive secondary school in the Carmarthenshire area to recruit a Full-Time Learning Support Assistant for the academic year.

This long-term role will involve supporting pupils within mainstream education who require additional help to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.

You will join a supportive secondary school with a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing and pupil success. The role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD and attention difficulties
  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Literacy and numeracy intervention needs
  • Anxiety and communication difficulties

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Encouraging engagement and confidence in lessons
  • Providing emotional and behavioural support
  • Assisting with intervention programmes across the curriculum
  • Promoting independence, resilience and positive learning behaviours

The school particularly values candidates with hobbies, interests or skills that can help engage learners who may find traditional classroom learning challenging, such as sports, music, outdoor activities, creative arts or mentoring experience.

Desirable (but not essential):
  • Experience working with young people
  • ALN, SEN or SEMH experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
