Job Description
Overview

We are Laminar Projects! We are a high-end project management consultancy and tech developer focused on upgrading how construction projects are delivered. We bring transparency and control through tech, processes, and common sense, and we invest in digital solutions to help deliver projects better. Our people are our secret sauce; we recruit the best and design an organisation that enables the flourishing of the team.

Laminar isn't just a place to work; it's a culture focused on making the industry better and on personal and professional growth. We grow from a small team to a global presence across infrastructure and complex building projects, with a commitment to learning and development.

The Role

Purpose of the role: You'll enhance the delivery of the most complex projects through project planning to the highest standards. You'll devise strategies and tactics to improve project delivery, translate this into a logic-linked plan, analyse it with planning software, and help teams understand what to prioritise.

Your team

This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy team focusing on understanding project problems, implementing the best solutions, and developing scalable practices, tools, and technology. You'll be part of our Project Planning Team, led by a planning discipline director.

Your top three objectives
  1. To make construction projects deliver to near perfection
  2. To create scalable and repeatable solutions to common problems
  3. To develop yourself and everyone around you
Your top five responsibilities
  1. Own the plan: Own the project plan for one or more projects and ensure the project is working to it effectively. Ensure delays are mitigated and managed commercially
  2. Own the outcome: You are responsible for ensuring the project team understands and focuses on the plan
  3. Report and inform: Provide simple, actionable reports to stakeholders at all levels to help them deliver their part more efficiently
  4. Make scalable solutions: Develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the team
  5. Develop everyone: Maximise the development of your team personally and professionally and educate our clients to improve as well
You must have
  • A construction engineering background: You have at least 2+ years of experience on construction projects
  • Communication skills: Proficient in written and verbal English with the ability to influence
  • Leadership capabilities: You lead yourself proactively and lead others by asking the right questions and challenging them
  • Impact: You have a track record of making projects and organisations better through scalable, repeatable solutions with significant positive impact
Laminar isn't the place for you if
  • You want an easy, chilled-out role without much challenge
  • You like to be the smartest person in the room
  • You don't like continuously receiving honest candid feedback
  • You prefer to do your own thing rather than work with a team
