We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Science Technician to work mainly in our well-equipped and busy Biology Department. Some of the working hours would also be used to assist in the physics and biology departments. There may be some flexibility about daily start and finish times which can be discussed at interview; however there will be times when early morning and/or late afternoon working will be required.
You will need a Science degree in a Biology related subject or where Biology was a significant part of the course. Alternatively, you would need to be educated to GCSE, A - level or equivalent in a Science subject plus a good practical working knowledge gained from a minimum of two years relevant experience working in a laboratory or practical environment.
Contract details:- Permanent, 39 weeks per year (Term Time Only plus 1 day pro-rata to be worked in the holidays).
- Part time: 18.5 hours per week
- Working pattern: over 3 days. Monday 9:30am - 4:15pm, Tuesday 9:30am - 4pm and Wednesday 9:30am - 4:15pm (with 30min unpaid lunch break).
- The pro-rata salary is £12,169 per annum (based on Grade 4, spine point 11 in the Support Staff Pay Spine for which full-time salary is £28,634 per annum).
- 5.2 weeks holiday pay included in pro rata salary
