Connex Education are recruiting for an experienced QTS Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Derby on a full-time maternity cover contract from 1st December until the end of the academic year.

The Role

This is a full-time Science teaching position, teaching across KS3 and KS4.

The successful teacher will be responsible for teaching across all three Science disciplines:

• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics

This is a full teaching timetable, so the successful candidate will be expected to take on the full responsibilities of the role, including:

• Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons
• Marking and assessing pupils' work
• Supporting pupils to make progress
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively
• Attending staff meetings
• Attending parents' evenings where required
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider Science department

We're Looking For

The school is looking for a qualified and experienced Science Teacher who:

• Holds QTS
• Has experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4
• Is confident teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Has strong subject knowledge
• Can plan and deliver engaging lessons
• Has effective classroom and behaviour management skills
• Is organised and reliable
• Can commit to the full maternity cover period
• Works well as part of a department
• Has a positive and professional approach

This would suit a Science Teacher looking for a full-time role from December through to the end of the academic year.
