Science Teacher - Rotherham

About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the Rotherham area from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term supply position with an initial temporary contract and the opportunity to secure a permanent position after a successful three-month period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student progress and achievement.
• Assess, monitor and record student attainment in line with school policies.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community and departmental development.

Pre-requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Degree in Science or a related subject.
• Proven experience of teaching Science within a secondary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and Science specifications at Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons that inspire student engagement and achievement.
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• Two education or school-based references.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
