  • Acorns Marple School Purpose of the Role To maintain the school premises and grounds to ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment for pupils, staff, and visitors Key Responsibilities Undertake and record regular checks on fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, playground equipment, legionella risks etc.

Undertake range of maintenance duties as directed by the Head Teacher, that contribute to the maintenance of the school premises (eg carpentry, plumbing, decorating and electrics) Create and manage a rolling decoration program to be planned and completed during school holiday periods.

Manage contractors on site when carrying out repairs and maintenance, monitor the safety of their working practices/quality of work.

General grounds maintenance including grass cutting and hedge trimming where necessary.

Always ensure safe pedestrian access, including keeping paths and entrances clear of leaves and moss, as well as gritting and snow clearing during severe weather.

To carryout any other reasonable activities as requested by the Head Teacher or the Estates Team.

What We're Looking For
  • Essential Minimum 7 years experience multi-skilled maintenance operative- Essential Previous experience in a similar role- Essential Able to work effectively without direct supervision
  • Essential Organised, pragmatic, and solutions-focused- Essential Health & Safety knowledge
  • CSCS/IOSH/NEBOSH
