About the role

The Schools Workforce HR and Development Team provides modern HR advisory services to the borough's schools and sector. As one of three People Business Partners, you will support senior leaders in schools, guiding people and organisational strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Drive interventions and support business focused solutions for Headteachers and Governors.
  • Embed best practice and people effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement innovative people and organisational strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Schools HR Traded Services & Strategic People Lead.
  • Deliver a first class people business partnering service to schools and commercial partners.
  • Build strong relationships with Headteachers, Senior Leaders and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the work of the three strands of the HR Traded Service to Schools.
  • Work with the Assistant Director of People Services and other colleagues to enhance the employee journey.
About you

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Experience working in the education sector with schools, providing consultancy style HR services and knowledge of teacher terms and conditions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK employment law and experience in a unionised environment.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practice, employment law and organisational change; ability to coach and support managers.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor advice and develop relationships with Headteachers, Schools Leaders, Managers and stakeholders.
  • Capability to support wider HR team to achieve business goals.
  • Analytical skills for research and MI.
  • Experience reviewing and writing policy documents.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent work experience.

Essential for this role: An enhanced DBS check and a clean full driving licence.
