School Caretaker

Are you hands-on, reliable, and proud of keeping a site running smoothly?
We are looking for an immediate Caretaker who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, bright environment for our pupils and staff to join one of our schools in Sefton.

If you have basic DIY skills, a proactive attitude, and take pride in a job well done, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

• Site Security: Unlocking the school each morning, securing the site at the end of the day, and acting as a key holder.
• General Maintenance: Handling basic DIY and routine upkeep (e.g., changing light tubes, minor plumbing fixes, painting, hanging shelving, and simple repairs).
• Grounds & Premises: Ensuring outdoor areas, pathways, and play zones are clean, safe, and hazard-free.
• Health & Safety: Performing routine checks (e.g., water testing, fire alarm tests) and liaising with contractors for major servicing.
• Community Support: Assisting with setup for school events, assemblies, and managing deliveries.

What We're Looking For

• Practical Mindset: Basic maintenance and handyman skills (carpentry, basic plumbing, or general trades background is a bonus).
• Reliability & Initiative: Someone who sees what needs doing and gets it done safely.
• Communication: Friendly and approachable-you'll be a valued face around the school site.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting, moving furniture, and working outdoors in all seasons.
