Engage Education is working with a welcoming school in Chichester to recruit a full-time School Caretaker for a September 2026 start. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and dependable individual to join a dedicated site team and play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented environment for students and staff.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation of the school site, helping to ensure facilities remain fully operational throughout the academic year.

About the role:

• Opening and securing the school premises each day
• Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repair work
• Conducting regular site inspections and health and safety checks
• Ensuring the school grounds remain clean, safe, and presentable
• Supporting contractors and external visitors whilst on site
• Assisting with room setups for events, examinations, and meetings
• Reporting maintenance issues and coordinating repairs where required
• Supporting site security and safeguarding procedures
• Assisting with deliveries and movement of equipment around the school

About you:

• Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or site management
• Practical DIY and repair skills
• Understanding of health and safety responsibilities
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Flexible approach to supporting the needs of the school
• Ability to prioritise workload and respond to issues efficiently
• Full UK driving licence is desirable
