School Caretaker

Location: PontefractPay rate: Around £12.71 per hourHours: 37 hours per weekContract: Temporary until August

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hands-on Caretaker to join a busy school in Pontefract. This is a key role in ensuring the school site remains safe, secure, and well maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.

• Working Hours: 37 hours per week
• Monday - Friday: Between hours of 6 AM and 5 PM.
• Around £12.71 Per hour
• Weekly pay

• Opening and closing the school site
• General maintenance and basic repairs
• Health & safety checks across the premises
• Setting up rooms for events and school activities
• Monitoring the security of the site and responding to emergencies
• Liaising with contractors where required
• Ensuring outdoor areas and buildings are kept safe and presentable

• Have previous caretaking, maintenance, or site management experience (school experience desirable)
• Be practical, proactive, and reliable
• Understand health & safety requirements in a school environment
• Be flexible and happy to work split shifts
• Must have an Enhanced DBS check
