Are you an experienced School Administrator seeking a new opportunity this September?

Flourish Education are looking to appoint a skilled and organised administrator to join a supportive Secondary School in South Birmingham. The successful candidate will ideally have prior experience working within a school office environment, although formal qualifications are not required.

This is a busy front-facing role where you will act as the first point of contact for parents, carers, and visitors. Your daily duties will include handling telephone enquiries, responding to emails, and supporting with general office administration to ensure the smooth running of the school day.

You will need to be confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, and comfortable working with school-based systems. Experience with Arbor is essential, while familiarity with SIMS would be an advantage.

Working closely with the Office Manager and Business Manager, you will provide vital administrative support across the school. Full training will be offered on systems where needed, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their career in school administration within a welcoming and supportive team.

Duties of a School Administrator may include:
  • Acting as the first point of contact for parents, staff and visitors
  • Managing phone calls, emails, post and enquiries efficiently
  • Maintaining accurate pupil records and data in line with GDPR requirements
  • Producing letters, reports and other correspondence
  • Assisting with pupil attendance recording and reporting
  • Supporting the organisation of school events and trips
  • Overseeing the administration of the school website and text messaging service
  • General office duties including filing, photocopying and managing stationery supplies
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience working as a School Administrator or Receptionist within a school setting
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • A good understanding of school data systems, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge and experience of using Arbor (essential)
  • Experience using SIMS (desirable)
  • Clear understanding of Data Protection principles
