  • You know how to map and engage with different stakeholder groups.

  • You understand how to carry out research responsibly and ethically, ensuring protection of participant privacy.

  • You understand the importance of inclusive research and can demonstrate creative approaches for recruiting a diverse range of research participants.

  • You've worked with other disciplines to define hypotheses and test concepts, helping shape new products, services and experiences.

  • You've managed remote and in-person usability testing throughout the agile development life cycle.

  • You're able to lead and participate in the analysis and synthesis of research data and findings, and communicate insights in an engaging and concise way to engage stakeholders in data-informed decisions.

  • You can define key metrics and measurements used to evaluate the impact of products and services and inform ongoing enhancements.

  • You're able to support and coach teams and stakeholders in the use of a range of user research methods, analysis and synthesis techniques and approaches to presenting and sharing findings.

User-centred design and agile working

  • You're able to produce concise artefacts (eg personas, journey maps, user stories) to help communicate user and business needs.

  • You're experienced at working with agile development teams and stakeholders to co-design and deliver products and services to meet user needs.

  • You advocate for and ensure high standards of usability, accessibility and inclusivity for products and services.

  • You've a detailed understanding and experience of working to the Government Service Standard.

Communications and productivity

  • You have excellent verbal/written, listening and facilitation skills and are confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels.

  • You have the technical literacy to understand (at a high-level) technical processes, concepts and constraints.
