Overview

We are supporting a UK-based programme delivering the migration of multiple enterprise platforms from on-premise infrastructure into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

We are seeking an experienced SC-cleared OCI Migration Architect to lead the infrastructure and cloud architecture aspects of this transition, ensuring secure, resilient and compliant cloud adoption.

This is a hands-on architecture and delivery role, not purely advisory.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of on-premise infrastructure and enterprise systems into OCI
• Design and implement secure OCI landing zones
• Define target cloud architecture across compute, storage, networking and identity
• Oversee infrastructure build and migration planning (phased or wave-based approach)
• Work closely with application, integration and security teams to ensure aligned migration strategy
• Ensure compliance with UK security standards and SC-cleared environment requirements
• Manage risk, dependencies and cutover strategy
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to engineers and delivery teams

Technical Skills & Experience Required

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Proven experience delivering on-prem cloud migrations
• Experience designing OCI networking, VCNs, routing, Firewalls and security controls
• Identity and access management within OCI
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation (Terraform or similar advantageous)
• Strong understanding of cloud security and governance in regulated environments
• Experience operating within SC-cleared or UK public sector environments

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to manufacturing/engineering platforms
• Experience supporting migration of platforms such as:
• Windchill PDMLink
• IBM ACE
• MESTEC
• Database security solutions (eg Guardium)
• Experience working alongside application and integration specialists during large-scale migrations
