My client is looking for a SAP Vistex functional expect consultant to join a new S4 HANA implementation project, to be worked remotely.

Highly experienced SAP Vistex Expert who will own the solution design and guide future enhancements throughout a 3-year S4 HANA program.

Functional Lead - SAP Vistex Consultant (S/4HANA Implementation)

We are looking for a seasoned Functional Lead SAP Vistex Consultant to own the Vistex workstream for a large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation. This role will provide functional leadership across design, build, testing, and deployment of Vistex solutions for pricing, rebates, chargebacks, incentives, royalties, billbacks, claims, and commercial settlement programs.

The Functional Lead will act as the primary Vistex subject matter expert, guiding solution architecture, managing functional delivery, mentoring consultants, and partnering with business leaders to deliver scalable, compliant, and high-performing commercial programs integrated with S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

Workstream Leadership & Governance

• Own end-to-end delivery of the SAP Vistex functional workstream within the broader S/4HANA program.
• Lead Vistex functional consultants and coordinate closely with SAP SD/MM/FI/CO, Data, Integration, and Testing leads.
• Define workstream plan, milestones, RAID logs, scope control, and quality assurance standards.
• Provide regular progress reporting and executive-level updates to program leadership.

Business Process Ownership & Solution Design

• Facilitate blueprint workshops and drive future-state commercial process design.
• Translate business objectives into Vistex solution architecture, ensuring alignment with global template standards.
• Lead the setup/design of complex Vistex programs such as:
• IPD (Incentives & Paybacks/Rebates/Billbacks)
• IRM (Chargebacks/Agreements/Claims/Royalties)
• ICM (Commissions)
• Dispute/claims management and settlement frameworks
• Ensure solutions minimize customization and maximize use of standard S/4HANA + Vistex capabilities.

Configuration Oversight & Functional Build

• Lead/oversee configuration of Vistex objects including agreements, rules, formulas, master data, settlement calendars, and accrual logic.
• Review and approve functional specs, configuration rationales, WRICEF requirements, and unit test evidence.
• Provide hands-on configuration for high-complexity items where needed.
• Ensure functional design supports auditability, compliance, and scalable performance.

Integration Leadership (S/4HANA & Beyond)

• Own integration design between Vistex and SAP S/4HANA, including:
• SD pricing/conditions, contracts, and order processing
• Purchasing/vendor programs (MM)
• Accruals, settlement posting, and reconciliation (FI/CO)
• Partner with technical/integration teams on APIs, IDocs, BAPIs, OData services, CPI/PO interfaces (as applicable).
• Ensure data ownership and handshakes are clearly defined across systems.

Testing Strategy, UAT & Defect Management

• Define Vistex testing strategy across Unit, SIT, UAT, Regression, and Performance testing.
• Own UAT planning with business stakeholders, ensuring adequate coverage for all incentive/settlement scenarios.
• Drive defect triage, root-cause analysis, and prioritization across teams.
• Ensure readiness gates are met for deployment.

Cutover, Go-Live & Hypercare Ownership

• Lead Vistex cutover planning, including program activation, open accrual handling, and settlement transition.
• Validate migrated agreements, pricing conditions, and historical balances as per conversion strategy.
• Provide go-live command-center support and lead hypercare stabilization.
• Transition knowledge and artifacts to support/AMS teams.

Documentation, Training & Change Enablement

• Own functional documentation set: blueprint, solution design, process flows, configuration guides, test scripts, training decks.
• Lead key-user training and enablement for commercial, finance, and operations teams.
• Support change impact assessment and communication plans.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years SAP experience, including 5+ years SAP Vistex with strong hands-on configuration.
• Functional lead experience on at least one full life cycle SAP Vistex implementation in S/4HANA (greenfield or brownfield).
• Deep expertise in commercial programs: rebates, chargebacks, royalties, billbacks, commissions, claims, and settlement accounting.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA SD/MM/FI integration points and end-to-end OTC/P2P flows.
• Proven ability to lead workshops, drive decisions, and manage senior stakeholders.
• Experience working in global templates, rollouts, or multi-country implementations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry experience in complex incentive environments (eg, pharma chargebacks, CPG rebates, automotive/industrial pricing).
• Exposure to S/4HANA Condition Contract Management (CCM) and how it coexists/integrates with Vistex.
• Knowledge of reporting/analytics integration (BW, SAC, Power BI, Vistex analytics).
• SAP/Vistex certification(s).
• Prior experience in Agile/SAFe delivery models.
