Rate: £272 - £470 per day

Role Overview

We are seeking a senior SAP Payroll & Time Lead to support a large scale ECC to S/4HANA (H4S4) technical migration programme. This role will take end to end ownership of the Payroll and Time workstream, leading functional design, migration assurance, and deployment activities in line with the overall programme objectives. This is a senior, client facing leadership role requiring deep functional expertise in SAP Payroll and Time, hands on migration experience, and the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders within a complex delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Payroll and Time workstream across the full migration lifecycle, including design, build, testing, cutover, and hypercare.
  • Act as the primary functional Subject Matter Expert for Payroll and Time, providing best practice guidance for S/4HANA.
  • Drive impact assessments and solution design for Payroll and Time during the migration from SAP ECC to H4S4.
  • Collaborate closely with technical, integration, and Basis teams to ensure data readiness, system stability, and migration success.
  • Oversee payroll data validation, reconciliation, and parallel payroll runs to ensure accuracy, control, and compliance.
  • Manage senior client stakeholders, providing clear status updates, resolving issues, and supporting informed decision making.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate functional risks and dependencies across the Payroll and Time domain.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK payroll legislation and client specific payroll and time requirements.
  • Support and govern testing activities, including SIT, UAT, and payroll specific validation and assurance cycles.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands on experience in SAP HCM Payroll and Time Management (UK payroll experience strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record supporting SAP S/4HANA (H4S4) or ECC technical migration programmes.
  • Deep understanding of payroll schemas, rules, time evaluation, and payroll integrations.
  • Demonstrated experience in payroll data migration, reconciliation, and parallel payroll testing.
  • Strong client facing capability with the ability to engage, influence, and lead senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating within complex, governance driven delivery environments.
