SAP Basis Consultant - €Market Rate/Day - Paris, France (Hybrid) - 3 months

bluewaveSELECT have been retained by a specialist IT services and consulting firm to engage the right SAP Basis Consultant.

This role sits within a major client's SAP ECC6 and S/4HANA landscape in Paris. The consultant will act as the lead Basis technical expert, responsible for system administration, infrastructure and HANA database management, with a strong focus on security and authorisations.

The focus of this role is on combined ECC6 and S/4HANA Basis expertise across both authorisations and infrastructure, requiring an autonomous, client-facing consultant who can operate fully in French within a hybrid environment.

Key Accountabilities:

• Administer and operate SAP ECC6 and S/4HANA systems (DEV, QA, PRD), including transports, Kernel updates, SPS and SAP Notes, system copies and refreshes
• Monitor and tune system performance, and contribute to upgrade and migration projects (SUM, DMO)
• Design, build and maintain roles and user access (PFCG, SU24, derived roles), including Fiori catalogs, groups and spaces in S/4HANA
• Support segregation of duties (SoD) and security audits, analysing conflicts and driving remediation, ideally with SAP GRC Access Control
• Administer SAP HANA databases and act as the interface with infrastructure teams and the hosting provider, covering HA/DR, SSO, SSL certificates, SAProuter and Web Dispatcher
• Start ASAP to align with the client's delivery timeline

Skills & Experience:
Essential -

• 8+ years' SAP Basis experience, including significant S/4HANA experience
• Proven dual expertise across ECC6 and S/4HANA, covering both authorisations and infrastructure
• Strong hands-on SAP HANA database experience
• Solid experience in role design and user management (PFCG, SU01, SUIM, STAUTHTRACE)
• Fluent French (mandatory, 100% French-speaking environment)
• Autonomous, rigorous and comfortable in client-facing roles

Desirable -

• Technical English
• Retail industry experience
• Knowledge of SAP GRC, Solution Manager or Cloud ALM
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or RISE with SAP)
• SAP certification
